Hey everyone, a bit of leniency please.

Good shooting in the new season everyone.

But, with the bad weather and the President coming into town, please show your opponents some understanding if they are running late getting to the match.

Same goes for next week during the UN General Assembly.

Tuesday teams:

Your matches start this week.

Last day for roster additions is therefore Monday night. Send e-mails because even though the Monday league doesn't start until next week, Martin & I will not be available this week either. (FYI - Martin & I both play on Monday nights.)

No one objected, so the Tuesday contacts will be sent out in a little while to facilitate your setting up to play Bye Week matches.

    Last season out of a possible 37 Bye Week matches, only 7 (19%) were played.

    If you all don't make the effort and choose to play these matches, we will probably be looking at options for next season. Such as making the playing of  bye week matches mandatory when there are available teams & boards.

If you are on Facebook, there is an NYDO group page where you can get announcements real-time. Anyone can join, so tell your players too.

If you don't want to be on Facebook, but like the real-time announcements, you can join 'Darts Underground'. It is a social network specifically for darts & dart people. We have a group page there too.

Last season we were pretty lazy about demanding the team fee payments. We are not making that mistake again. Remember that all bars with less than 3 teams must make their payments by week # 3. (Bars with 3 or more teams can pay by then also.) But if there are 3 or more teams we are willing to work out a payment schedule. That is a schedule, with time-frames, not just 'later'.

For the teams whose bars are historically late, no more mister nice guy - tell them to pay up or we will charge the $25 per team late fee.

Captains of the Spring 2012 teams listed below -

 

    At this point we have NOT receive a registration renewal from your team. The deadline is later tonight (Friday, the 7th).

 

    If you are not bring a team back, just e-mail us otherwise the annoying phone calls will start right after lunch. :)

 

    We realize the team name, the bar you play out of, or even the captain may be changing for the Fall season, but you are the contact we have.

 

    If you are returning a team, you can fax it to the league # 212-374-9529. The answering machine will switch over - so just hit send right away.

    You can also e-mail it to the main league e-mail address. (Do NOT use Facebook.) The form must be sent as either a .pdf file or a Word document (extension .doc only - we can't open .docx versions).

 

    Final chance will be dropping it off with me at The Gaf (East) - 1st Avenue @ 89th Street. I should get there by 7:00 and will be there until at least 11:30 or so - no guarantee of being there after that. If you are coming - let us know by e-mail before I leave for the bar so I know to expect you.

 

    Time is definitely running out - get those teams in now!

Monday League Awards Night Announcement:

• The Monday Awards for the Spring 2012 Season is later todayMonday, August 20th at Percy's Tavern - 210 Avenue A - at 13th Street. Traditional 7:45 start time.
  • Please make sure that your team members that have awards coming to them show up to get them. Even if it is only the pins for the 171+ Club, R9, C5, or C6. Plus the various plaques and trophies. Remember, we are not a moving or storage company - so anything left over just gets put in a box and left at the bar for pick up. We are not responsible for those items that are left. So please send someone to pick them up.

• The new Fall 2012 Season deadline for team registration is Friday, September 7th. Our usual e-mail receipts start next week. It is your job to get your registrations to us. If you don't get a receipt, you need to get in touch with us. The league phone will have the normal coverage. If you use the USPS (snail mail) and are cutting it close, make sure you get your registration receipt. If you don't get one by September 7th, then call us on the 8th after 2 pm and before 6 pm. 
  • Please get us your registrations as soon as you have your teams together. As we said at the Captains Meeting, the Tuesday League's number of teams are getting so low that its separate continuation is at risk. (We have a plan for combining the two leagues if necessary.) The sooner we get the teams registration, the soon we will all see what is going on. You can use the Word document version we are including on this e-mail or the pdf version that is on the web site's Rules Page. (The pdf version is interactive thanks to Charlie.)
  • You can either fax or e-mail the form to us. If you use e-mail please make sure you use only a .doc or .pdf formatted file as the automatic spam protector tends to delete all otherfile formats.
  • Final drop off is Friday, September 7th at The Gaf (East). No guarantees that I will last till after midnight.

Here is the info for the two NYDO Spring 2012 Season Awards Nights:

Tuesday, August 14th - at the home of the C Division Champions - Zulu Dart Kings. Ace Bar - 531 East 5th Street (Between Avenue B and Avenue A).

Monday, August 20th - at the home of both the Division A & Division C Champions - Right There Michael and Rocks & Sticks. Percy's Tavern - 210 Avenue A (at East 13th Street).

The Singles & Doubles Awards are given out at the second awards of the season, so they will be given out at the Monday Awards this season.

The usual 7:45 pm start time. While we would like that everyone comes and helps celebrate all the winners, it is very important that someone comes from your team to collect ANY awards earned.

If you have any leftover envelopes or score sheets, please bring them and turn them in for reuse.

We hope to see you all there!
