Flights are traditionally made in large sheets that are glued together and then creased and stamped out. This means there is an inherent weak point around the edges of the flight. As well traditional flights are very susceptible to bending and not holding shape.

The original Flight-L design was 2 years in the making. Lstyle was the first company to produce flights with perfectly square 90 degree right angles. This was accomplished using manufacturing techniques from the Aerospace industry that had never been applied to dart production before Lstyle.

Lstyle flights are molded in 1 piece. This prevents any single part of the flight having a built in vulnerability. They are also molded with a flight guard towards the back of the flight. It is built in to help the flight maintain it’s perfect 90 degree angle.

Lstyle flights also weigh the same as most traditional flights. So there is no balance difference in when switching from older traditional flights to Lstyle flights.

Lstyle flights should only be used with Nylon or Poly shafts. This is because the material the L-Fight is made out of is a little thicker that traditional flights. It is this thickness that also helps give the Lstyle flight amazing durability.

The base of the flights have a uniquely designed end to make inserting the flight into shafts very easy to do. In the photo to the right, you can see it comes to a very fine point. This makes flight changes as easy and as fast as blinking!

There are 2 types of L-Flights available in the US currently. The first is the original Flight-L which uses a small ring to help secure the flight to the shaft (pictured above). The second is the ingenious design called the Champagne Flight. You can see by the picture to the left, it is a larger ring (or Champagne Cup) that goes in this flight. Not only does this cup help secure the flight to the shafts, but it also completely covers the back of your shaft to prevent “robin hooding” and breaking off the tongs of your shafts.

I hope I have answered a lot of your questions about Lstyle L flights. Please stay tuned as I will be covering other Lstyle product in future posts!
